The management of Buruj Sports Academy has announced the commencement of a new session even as the Lagos-based side has shortlisted five new players for the season.

The players who include Asotie isaborgwuezor Wecross (winger); Benjamin Ekene Cyprain (Defender); Jimoh Sodiq Pelumi (forward); Nwaribeaku Dozie Stanley (Forward) and Amuji Chidera (forward).

These six,  joined by old players Fadeni Kehinde Emmanuel (defender) and Ilelaboye Adam Babajide (Defender), are already penciled down for the team’s next foreign trip because of the promise they have shown in training and their academics, according to the CEO of the Academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed.

He said: “Buruj Academy combines education with football and we take both very seriously. The five players have already shown enough promise and our coaches will be working to further develop their talents. As at today, the seven of them are already on our shortlist for the next competition in Europe.”

Dr Salaudeen also called on interested players and parents who want their children to pursue a career in football in an academic environment to come forward and register their wards as there are still few places available.

“Admission is still on for those who are interested in joining us. They should check our website at www.burujsportsacademy.org or watch our promos on television. They can also check the papers for more information. We would be glad to give every child equal opportunity at success,” he said.

Buruj Academy are the defending champions of the English International Super Cup which they won in Manchester, England last July. They would be defending the title next year and preparations have already begun for a successful outing.
