Buruj Sports Academy Visits Ooni Of Ife, Plans Another Foreign Tour Soon

For the support received by the team during the playing tour to the United Kingdom, Buruj Sports Academy on Tuesday visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II to show appreciation to the spiritual leader.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos based academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed led the delegation to the Oba’s palace at Ile Ife and presented a photo frame to His Imperial Majesty admits fun fair as the Oba hosted traditional chiefs for the annual indigenous festival.
Oba Ogunwusi graciously supported Buruj Sports Academy in London when he hosted the English International Super Cup Champions and expressed willingness to back the academy’s activities even as they plan to mark the 10th years anniversary in grand style.
While briefing Oba Ogunwusi on the success achieved by the academy in which three of the players that took part in the youth tournament in the city of Manchester were admitted by Boreham Wood Football Club after trials, Dr Salaudeen said the support of the king was pivotal and behoves the management to come to his palace at Ile Ife to show gratitude.
The CEO also informed Oba Ogunwusi on the plan to embark on another playing tour in September to maximise the gains of participating in English International Super Cup in Manchester earlier this month.
Meanwhile, The victorious Buruj Sports Academy team which won the prestigious International Super Cup in Manchester, England has commenced plans for their next playing tour.

The team which returned to the country over the weekend is still basking in the euphoria of their success in the United Kingdom but ready to begin in earnest preparation for their next playing tour in September.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed, training will resume next week and prospective players who are willing to join the academy will have opportunity be part of their next trip.

He added that interested players will be admitted on the academy on the basis of first cone come serve because their limited number of slots that will be opened to new intakes.

Dr Salaudeen explained that the success of the recent to the United Kingdom in which three of his players were admitted by Boreham Wood Football Club to continue their development in football as well as education has opened doors for the academy to help more upcoming talents to live their dreams of playing professionally abroad.

While revealed plans for the coming weeks, the CEO said the management of the Lagos based academy will soon meet the sports loving governor of Lagos state, Mr Akimwunmi Ambode to present the trophy won in the city of Manchester to him in appreciation for his positive strides in sports and youth development in the state.

“We’ve written to the His Excellency, Governor Akimwunmi Ambode and we are positive that our letter requesting for audience with the sports loving governor will be promptly and favourably treated. While we are the only Nigeria team to have participated in the youth tournament, we represent Lagos” Dr Salaudeen said.
