What could be described as the rich suppressing the poor was displayed at Umudim kindred in Ibughubu village in Umuchu town, Aguata Local Government area of Anambra State by an Abuja based businessman.

The Abuja based businessman, Mr Cyriacus Obiakor arranged with the Nigeria Police from the Abuja headquarters and stormed the village over the weekend to arrest the family members of one Humphrey Njirika in order to take over their land.

However, the plan failed after the people present informed the police team that Obiakor was a notorious land grabber in the community. The police immediately re-adjusted, moved into investigation and did not arrest the suspects he petitioned against but rather invited them.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that this happened after Obiakor went behind and procured a land  judgment from his kindred on the matter already decided by the entire community in favour of Njirika.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when the matter was resolved between Njirika and his brother, Festus Ekekwe, Obiakor was the chairman who decided the matter. It was also gathered that Obiakor decided to take the land 14 years after he had presided over and resolved the matter last year, because Njirika had health challenge and one of his legs was amputated.

It was gathered that in 2015, Obiakor claimed that his forefathers performed a sacrifice on the said land and therefore the land belong to them.
He thereafter used his influence to set up a kangaroo committee within Umudim kindred who awarded the land to him making two judgments on the same land.

The committee members were, Ichie Mentus Umeh, Apostle Pius Chigboo, Sir Dominic Enemuo, Ben Okorie and Obi Ubah from another kindred who was employed as secretary in the plot. Chigboo and Ubah were the chairman and secretary that handled the matter in the entire community, while Ichie Umeh was a witness in favour of Njirika.
How the Chigboo, Ubah and Umeh got involved in  the new judgment described as kangaroo was still a surprise to the community who suspected that they might have been induced with money to do so.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the confusion led to a bloody clash between Obiakor family and Ogbuefi Humphrey Njirika family and when Obiakor discovered that he cannot easily take the land from Njirika family, he decided to use the police to achieve his desire.
However, some prominent members of the community foiled the move and his plans became hopeless after they presented the facts to the police.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the police team discovered that Cyriacus Obiakor lied to the Inspector General of Police for the officers to be deployed to Anambra to arrest Njirika family members. The team therefore invited them for briefing for further investigation and left the town.
Meanwhile some indigenes of the community has asked the Anambra State  Commissioner of Police to arrest those who had wanted to cause bloodshed in the community by going behind to sit over a matter that has been decided by the community.
It was gathered that the whole thing has now backfired; even the committee members have gone underground to avoid being lynched by angry youths.
