The State of Osun is set to make history as it will play host to the first to be organized on Africa continent, an agricultural exhibition and conference.

It will be another landmark for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Governor of the State of Osun, who has graciously gave approval for the hosting of Agritech Nigeria Osogbo 2017 International Exhibition and Conference before the first quarter of next year comes to an end.

PM EXPRESS exclusively gathered that preparation ahead of the program has begun in earnest, as there is already collaboration between the government of the State of Osun, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the organisers.

Sources who have privy of the planned international exhibition and conference, but pleaded for anonymity because they are not authorized to speak on the event, told PM EXPRESS at the weekend that a renowned company in Israel, Kenes Exhibition, a leading  Israeli company that  is organizing professional exhibitions and conference including Agritech Israel with over 19 years of experience, is bringing its experience to bear on Agritech Nigeria Osogbo 2017.

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari is expected to declare the Conference open with a good numbers of Ministers and foreign speakers will present papers in the three days event.

“Agrictech Nigeria, Osogbo 2017 is the first Nigeria’s largest Exhibition and Conference on agriculture, farm machineries, dairy, poultry, water technology, livestock equipment, agriculture processing technologies and environmental control.

“This programme is coming at a period in Nigerian history when the government of President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) is putting all its resources to diversify Nigeria’s economy from reliance on oil to agriculture.

“Agrictech Nigeria, Osogbo 2017 is a journey into the future and prosperity of agribusiness in Nigeria, a country with a population of over 200 million people and the largest market in Africa.  There is no agribusiness opportunity like this, ” one of our sources in Osogbo said.

“The exhibition will provide the participants, both local and international, the opportunity to showcase their latest, modern and super- intensive agriculture technologies and products.

“The attendees will have the chance to do business with over 700,000 people and companies, including buyers, investors, key decision makers, policy heads and agricultural development executives in the African economy.

“It is going to be an event that we shake not only the State of Osun, but entire Nigeria. Our dear governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is a man that has been making giant strides despite the low revenue the state is getting from the Federation Account. The state has witnessed tremendous development in terms of good road network, tourism development and heavy investment on security of lives and property, and it is believed that with Agritech Nigeria Osogbo 2017, the first in Africa, holding in the state, the world will surely know that the Governor is truly a man of history. “
