The son of the traditional ruler of Isheri Olofin Kingdom, Prince Idris Balogun has reacted to the allegation that his father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akabi Balogun forged documents which he used to become the ruler of the kingdom.

Prince Balogun said Isheri Olofin has been in existence for hundreds of years and his father was not the first Oba of Isheri Kingdom.

He said that the allegation was an attempt to tarnish the image and reputation of his father who had worked hard over the years to build.

Balogun who is into hospitality business said due process was followed before his father was crown the king with three gazettes by the Lagos State government.

He said the records were still there at the Alausa secretariat. He wondered why journalists who reported the story did not bother to find out before publishing such damaging reports.

On the allegation of forging an intelligent repor, Balogun said there was nothing like that, stressing that those spreading the rumour were those that lost a civil litigation on land matter against Isheri Olofin at the Lagos High Court which spanned over 34 years.

He said neither his father nor any Isheri Olofin indigene works in the archive office and does not have any reputation of forging official report.

Balogun explained that the rumour was spearheaded by one Alhaji Samson Adebimpe who he claimed has been on the run because the police was looking for him over false information he was given to misled the public.

Balogun explained that there was no link before between Idimu kingdom because they were separate towns and Isheri Olofin kingdom has four ruling houses before it was the turn of his father to become the Oba.
He regretted that when the publication was made, journalists did not do a thorough job to look for facts from both sides before they published.

He said that his father is a respected first class Oba in Lagos State and he occupies many important positions entrusted to him because of his integrity over the years.

“For intent and purposes, the records of his ascension to the throne is there in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs at the seat of government, Alausa, Ikeja, Balogun said.

He urged the people of Isheri Olofin to remain calm despite the provocation because the police will surely brought Adebimpe which he alleged sworn false affidavit to peddle the rumour.

Balogun explained that the matter over land was won by Isheri people and an appeal was made where the court asked the parties to maintain status quo, adding that his people abided by the decision of the Appeal Court.

He regretted that Adebimpe and his group decided to cause trouble in the area despite the court order in the matter.

When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Adebimpe, the reporter was told that he went to Abuja to honour Police’s summon over the allegation he made against Oba Balogun
