Landlord’s Son Stabs Tenant Over Dog’s Food

The son of a landlord, Olumide Akinmiran has landed in trouble after he engaged their tenant, Paul Idika in a fierce fight over dog’s food picked from events and in the process the tenant was injured on his face.
The incident happened at 7, I.K Dairo Street in Surulere, Lagos where they reside.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Akinmiran and the victim had a disagreement after the latter returned home with food picked from parties but which he claimed was meant for the feeding of dogs.
Akinmiran, who has been suspecting the tenant of going to events places to pick food, challenged him to be truthful of what he planned to use the food for because he has no dog in the compound.
He then told Idika that the party food must be to feed his family of six, an accusation which was denied vehemently by the victim.
The landlord’s son then instructed Idika to throw the food away and this brought disagreement and in the process, Akinmiran was said to have stabbed the tenant on his face and injured him.
The matter was reported to the police at Itire division and Ondo State-born Akinmiran was arrested and charged to court under the Criminal code with assault.
At the Isolo Magistrates court where he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr O.N. Ogbe granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
He has been remanded in prison custody pending when he will meet his bail condition.
In a chat with our correspondent, Idika said he does not eat those food neither his family but he treats dogs and he had brought the food to feed any dog brought to him for treatment.
He felt insulted that Akinmiran refused to believe him.
On his part, Akinmiran, before he was taken to prison custody, said that he feel irritated by Idika’s conduct of going about party venues picking those left overs and brought it home.
He insisted that he had not seen any dog Idika has fed with such food.
