Members of Staff Praise Ikeja LG Outgoing Boss, Engr. Taiwo As He Bows Out
The Sole Administrator of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Abiodun Taiwo has been receiving praises and commendation from staff of the Council for doing good jobs during his tenure.
Engr Taiwo will be succeeded by Engr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun who won the chairmanship position in weekend’s Lagos State Local Government Elections.
Engr Taiwo was among the young people appointed by His Excellency, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, the Executive Governor of Lagos State on the 13th of June, 2016 to steer the ship of the LGAs and LCDAs across the state.
On assumption, he structured his programmes, activities and mission in line with the cardinal directives of Gov. Ambode which was to connect governance with the grassroots and the communities in the area in line with the ‘Cleaner, Safer and Prosperous Lagos Vision.
Through proactive, aggressive and innovative actions and activities he changed the face of governance in the local government secretariat and around Ikeja environs. He executed many noble projects through his Community Intervention Initiatives. He was able to reduce to the barest minimum the incidences of revenue leakages and even raised the revenue generation. In his one year in office, he renovated and remodelled the Executive building block as well as other offices within the Council Secretariat.
For boosting the morale of the council workers and seeing to their better welfare, the National Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE Ikeja Branch), led by the Chairperson Yetunde Ogunleye presented him an award in appreciation of the good things he did and for his support.
When P.M.EXPRESS spoke with some staff of the Council, they expressed their appreciation for what he was able to achieve within a short period and wished him the very best in his future endeavours. A member of the management staff who does not want his name mentioned, said he will particularly miss Engr. Taiwo’s meticulous approach to official matters and his articulate personality.
