As the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) looks not likely to be over soon going by dissenting voices from the camps of the factional leaders, their members have continued to cross over to the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the country.
The members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ward B, Ikeja Local Government, Lagos led by Hon. Wasiu Bankole have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Bankole crossed over with over 100 members and supporters.
He cited the imposition of unpopular candidates on the people as one of the reasons for the crisis in the PDP which necessitated their desire to move.
Bankole said he was equally motivated to decamp by the purposeful leadership offered by the ruling party and the attendant delivery of the dividends of democracy across the state.
The decampees were welcomed into the party at their immediate ward office (Ikeja Ward ‘B’) by the Acting Ward Chairman – Hon Raji Kayode.
They expressed satisfaction at the way and manner they were received into the party fold without animosity having been in the opposition camp.
Kayode in his welcome speech assured the new members of equal opportunities in the activities of the All Progressives Congress going forward.
The decampees, now new members were taken through the party rules and guidelines and they thereafter promised to remain loyal and work for the success of the party in future elections and in the delivery of the dividends.
Some party chieftains who were around to welcome the new members said that the depleting number of the opposition can only be indicative of the impact of the governance felt by the people across the state and the nation.
