Police Parade 70 Suspects, Intercepts Drugs Worth N250m Inside Container

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal on Monday paraded about 70 suspected criminals arrested for committing various crimes in the state.
The police also intercepted some substances suspected to be cocaine worth about N250m hidden inside an imported container.
The suspect were paraded at the State Command at Ikeja, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that those paraded were cultists, murder suspects, drugs and child traffickers, armed robbers among others.
CP Edgal said their arrest was possible following the partnership between the police and the public who were collaborating with the police in protection of lives and properties.
Some of the suspects were Ibrahim Anifowose and Uche Igwe who were arrested for the recent killing of one Pastor Victor of the Redeemed Church at Ikorodu.
Police sources told P.M.EXPRESS that assorted arms and ammunitions were recovered and kept at the command as exhibits. Some of the items recovered include AK- 47 rifles, pistols and live ammunition which were also displayed at the Command.
The police boss revealed that the officers recovered some substances suspected to be cocaine worth about N250m hidden inside imported container by unidentified suspects. While parading the suspects, CP Edgal said it has been a fruitful period as the command has deployed various crime prevention strategies which yielded culminating results.
He said the Command wishes to appeal to the good people of Lagos to remain vigilant at all times, as all hands must be on deck to make the state safe and secure. The police boss assured that the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that some of the suspects paraded confessed committing the crimes as the police had alleged.
Some said that they will not return to crime if they survived their predicament.
