Robbers Burgle Redeemed Christian Church, Cart Away Valuables

A parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG has been burgled by armed robbers who went there in the night, carted away valuables and escaped in Lagos.
The incident happened at the church parish located at Aniya junction in Egan area in the outskirts of Lagos.
The suspects, Aliu Raji, 24 and Ganiyu Habeeb and others said to be at large reportedly scaled the fence in the night, broke into the church hall and carted away some items including generating set, DVD recorder, amplifier, cables among others.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspects had already succeeded, sold the items and had shared the money amongst themselves. However, It was gathered that after the operation confusion set in among them and they confessed publicly in the area claiming that they were responsible for the missing items.
The information got to the Redeemed Christian Church members and the matter was reported to the police at Igando Division and the two suspects were arrested and detained at the police station. It was gathered that the suspects confessed in their statements and mentioned their accomplices during the operation.
They were brought before Ejigbo Magistrates court and charged for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.O.E Adeyemi-Ajayi granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 12 March, 2018.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if the suspects face trial and are found guilty that they may spend the next three years in prison custody for what they committed.
