The South West Progressive Youth Movement, (SWPYM) has praised the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, saying the former Governor of Lagos State remains a pillar in the strive to reclaim the country’s foundering fortunes.

In a release signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Taiwo Ajayi and the groups National Director of Mobilization, Comrade Obadeyi Oluwaseun, SWPYM decried conscious attempts to malign the image of Tinubu through grand conspiracies to set him up against the Presidency.

The group stated “our attention has been drawn to unpleasant comments made by some groups and individuals in the media, against our own leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over his stand on the outcome of the Ondo State Governorship election primary in APC.”

The youth group stated “We in the Southwest Progressive Youth Movement wish to state unequivocally, that, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu remains the pride of the Yoruba nation and Nigeria at large, therefore, no one can diminish him.”

Ajayi and Comrade Oluwaseun observed that Tinubu, in a bid to save Nigeria and her historically troubled people from the cesspool of the then ruling class, even in the years of campaign against the military rule and the great effort to reclaim the stolen mandate of Nigerian people during the June-12 struggles, had faced a lot of challenges more than many currently leaders of the country.

“It is no gainsaying, Asiwaju Tinubu took up the responsibility of emancipation and liberation of the Nigeria masses from the shackles of oppression, a struggle led by our late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo till his last breathe. It is on record that Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State fought against several anti-masses policies of the then PDP-led Federal Government to a halt. The battle included the creation of Local Council Development Areas (L.C.D.As), which many state of the federation has now adopted as a model.

“In Nigeria today, Tinubu remains an undisputed symbol of our renaissance and the collective struggle of the country’s founding fathers. He is a Hero of the liberation of the Nigerian masses. His struggle for agitation of a better Nigeria which was encapsulated in his ‘Common Sense Revolution’has liberated the country from the 16 years of retrogression, foisted on the Nigeria people by the PDP-led government.”

The group who have concluded plan to organize – An All South-west State 3 Million Youths Simultaneous Solidarity Walk For Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu very soon warned that, the entire progressive southwest youths and people will not take it easy with anyone either within or outside the APC that attempt to rubbish our last man standing’s political image especially those self centered, greedy and ungrateful political big wigs, most of which has benefited from Tinubu’s selection exercises and that has also graduated from his political colleges.

“This is our country, southwest is our region and our number one progressive leader remains the “Arosomodi Gbabon Lowo Ologun” of our time, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The Jagaban.”
