A jilted 25-year-old man, Ashiru Musa Danrimi, suffered a broken heart and allegedly stabbed himself to death after he discovered that his lover, Miss Umi Muhammed, has dumped him for another man.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident took place at Kadawa Ward, Ungogo Local Government area of Kano State, where they reside.
Police operatives at Kano State Command have already started investigation to unravel the circumstances which led to his death which also involved interrogating his lover, Umi, who was said to have broken his heart.
Police sources said that the late Danrimi felt brokenhearted after the lover, Umi, had planned to abandon him and get married to another man.When he could not bear the grief as a result of his serious commitment financially and otherwise to make their future union a reality, he allegedly reached out for a knife and stabbed himself. He was said to have bled profusely before he was rushed to the hospital.
The Police had tried to save his life by rushing him to Murtala Hospita but their efforts proved abortive as he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Neighbors of the deceased that knew both of them, found it hard to believe that things would turn out that way.Meanwhile, the Kano State Commissioner Of Police has ordered a full scale investigation into the tragic incident. The lover, Miss Umi, may be charged before the Court for murder if the Police finds her culpable. It attracts several years of Imprisonment if she is tried and found guilty for causing his death.
