The Police in Lagos have commenced search for a 16-year old house help, Miss Mesoma Maduka, who was said to have absconded from her boss, Dr. Geoffrey Orajekwe’s place and had been without trace for the past three weeks.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the house help, Mesoma, reportedly absconded from Orajekwe’s home at Kirikiri town, Lagos and every effort to trace her has proved abortive. Even efforts by her parents, Mr. Wilson Maduka and wife in Nando town in Anambra State has not yielded fruits.
What made the disappearance of Miss Mesoma strange and a thing of surprise to many was that before she ran away, she ensured that all her photographs on the Internet, in the house and at her school were removed to the extent that none can be reached by both her parents and her boss before she escaped.
This was confirmed by her boss, Dr. Orajekwe and his wife, who were still in shock over her disappearance.
Orajekwe narrated to P.M.EXPRESS that Mesoma was brought to his house by his wife as a house help about 10 months ago. When she arrived, he enrolled her in a private school in the area known as Tender Crown Eminent International School located at Comfort Oboh Estate in Kirikiri area of Lagos. He was said to be paying N50,000 as her school fee and other expenses such as buying of books, feeding and other things.
He said that when she disappeared from his home, they went to her school to report and all her pictures, which were supposed to be in the school file were not there. The only information they were able to get from her school friends was that Mesoma confided in them that she wanted to be an actress and will travel to the Northern part of Nigeria to act films.
An embittered Orajekwe said that the house help, Mesoma, was even the person cooking for the members of his family including his wife and children with unfettered access to everything in his home. He said on the day she absconded, she prepared food, served them and went to buy ice cream before disappearing from there and since then nobody has sighted her.
He narrated that it was his wife that drew his attention that Mesoma had not returned home after several hours she went to buy ice cream and they waited throughout the day to no avail before he went to the Kirikiri Police Station to report.
“Since then, nothing has been heard about her and when we contacted her parents, the father said they did not see her” Orajekwe said.
He described Miss Mesoma’s height to be about four feet, fair in completion and speaks good English.
Orajekwe is appealing to well meaning Nigerians, who know where she can be located, to please contact him or the Police because since she absconded his family had not experienced rest of mind.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent contacted Mesoma’s father, Mr. Wilson Maduka, he confirmed the incident. He said that Dr. Orajekwe had informed him about the development and since then they have not seen or had any contact with her even through phone.
When P.M.EXPRESS visited Kirikiri Police Division, the DPO was not on seat to comment on the matter. However, sources at the Station confirmed that Orajekwe reported the incident and since then the Police have commenced investigation and were making effort to rescue her.
