2 Attendants Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N9m Cash At AP Filling Station

Two AP Filling Station petroleum attendants, Oyadeji Oluseyi, 32 and Adelaja Olutowobi, 60, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing company’s cash from sales to the tune of N9m.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at AP filling station located at 323, Abaranje Road, Ikotun-Lagos.
When the management discovered that the money was missing, it was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested and detained the suspects at the station for interrogation over the alleged offence.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Oyadeji Oluseyi ‘M’, Adelaja Olutowobi ‘M’ and others still at Large, sometime in the 2025, at AP filling station at 323, Abaranje Road, Ikotun -Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit felony to wit; stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Oyadeji Oluseyi ‘M’ on same period and place, in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal cash sum of Nine Million Naira (N9,000,000.00), being the proceeds of the sales of petrol realized, property of AP filling station and thereby commited an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287(7) of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Adelaja Olutowbi ‘M’and others still at large, on same period and place, in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully receive cash sum of Nine Million Naira (N9,000,000.00) from One Oyadeji Oluseyi ‘m’, having reason to believe same to be stolen property or fraudulently obtained,property of AP filling station and thereby commited an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 328 of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and payment of tax while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
