KINGSLEY EBERE

Two married men, Oladimeji Kayode, 58 and Afolabi Peter, 54, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 16-year old girl severally in sex and the victim exposed them.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that they have been arrested and charged for statutory rape by allegedly engaging a minor in sex.

The first suspect, Kayode, was alleged to have engaged the victim in the act between March and December,2025 at Arowolo Street, Abule-Egba, Lagos, while the second suspect allegedly committed the offence between January and December,2025 at Dan-Silva Estate, New Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos.

However, it was the victim who exposed the suspects and the matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko Division. The operatives moved into action, arrested the suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct against the victim.

After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

COUNT I:- “That you, Oladimeji Kayode ‘m’ and others now at large between March 2025 to December 2025 at Arowolo Street, Abule-Egba, Lagos State, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully have unprotected sexual intercourse with the victim ‘f age 16 years old being a minor and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

COUNT 2:-“That you, Afolabi Peter ‘m’ between January to December 2025 at Dan-Silva Estate, New Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos State, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully have unprotected sexual intercourse with the victim ‘f’ age 16 years old being a minor and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

However, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
