Two men, Oyewale Ojewole, 47 and Isanyabola Sola, 40, have landed in trouble in Lagos State for posing as landlord and tenant in order to obtain fake Court judgment to eject a tenant from an apartment but it backfired.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 21st July, 2025, at Ilori Court Room 16 at Ogba Magistrate Court.
According to the Police, the suspects went before the Presiding Magistrate,  Mr. M.A.  Adegbaye, posed as Chief Olayiwola Hamzat as a claimant (Landlord) and Edokwe Jude (tenant) and agreed on the consent of judgment for the tenant to vacate the apartment.
However, while they were in the process of getting the judgment, information leaked that they were not the real landlord and tenant in the matter rather impersonated to get the judgment.
The matter was reported to the Police at Pen Cinema Division. They were subsequently arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
While being interrogated, the Police discovered that they were fake and then charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy and impersonation, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, OYEWALE OJEWOLE ‘M’ and ISANYABOLA SOLA ‘M’ on 21 July, 2025 at about 02:41pm at Ilori Court Room 16 Ogba, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit impersonation and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, OYEWALE OJEWOLE ‘M’ and GOLA SOLA ‘M’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully impersonate yourselves as Chief Olayiwola Hamzat as a claimant and Edokwe Jude as a defendant before Magistrate M. A. Adegbaye of Court 16 Ogba, Lagos, by presenting an affidavit of terms of settlement to take possession of four number, of Two Bedrooms flat situated at Plot 435, Block 18, Abdulfatai Mogaji Street, Genesis Estate Aboru, Iyana-Ipaja Lagos, knowing fully that your presentations were false and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 380 (2) of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
