2 Men Docked For Allegedly Stealing N8m Toyota Car Parked On The Road

Two men, Daniel Bawa, 34 and Adamu Ciroma, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a Toyota car belonging to Stephen Kola Balogun. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 29th September, 2025, at Oduwobi Street, Ilupeju area of Lagos State.

 

According to the Police, the suspects conducted themselves in a manner to cause breach of public peace by stealing the car, which was parked by the complainant and escaped.

 

However, when the complainant did not see the car where he parked it, he reported to the Police. The Police moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over the missing car

 

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrat Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1 : “That you, Daniel Bawa ‘m’, Adamu Ciroma and one other now at large on the 29th of September, 2025 at about 1800hrs at Oduwobi Street, lupeju, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 168 (1) (d) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II:-“That you, Daniel Bawa ‘m’, Adamu Ciroma ‘m’ and one other now at large on sume date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT III:”That you, Daniel Bawa ‘m’, Adamu Ciroma ‘m’ and one other now at large on same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal one Toyota Avensis car with registration number EDT36AA valued Eight Million naira (N8,000,000:00k) property of one Stephen Kola Balogun and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 281 (2) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
