2 Men Docked Over Rape Of Neighbour’s 10-year old Girl

It was still a mixture of shock and amazement for the residents of Mende area of Maryland, Lagos over the alleged defilement of a 10-year old girl by two men living in the same compound.

The suspects, a 64-year old Anthony Umoh and 31-year old Felix Owulezi have been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for their alleged involvement in the alleged rape of the victim.

The incident happened at Lizzy Ogbe Street in the Mende area of Maryland, Lagos where both the suspects and the victim’s parents reside.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspects landed in trouble after the victim informed her parents what the suspects did to her when they were not around. It was gathered that the suspects sexually abused the victim secretly without each knowing what the other did except the victim.

They reportedly warned the victim not to tell anyone until they found themselves at the police station where they were exposed.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it exposed after the victim complained of pains in her private and her mother decided to observe her private. It was then the mother discovered that she had been defiled and asked her what happened. She then revealed that it was the suspects that molested her.

The matter was reported to the police and the suspects were arrested and detained at the police station. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly opened up after the victim narrated how everything happened.

They were charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for defilement.

They pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi granted them bail in the sum of N500,000 with sureties in like sum.

They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 5 December, 2017.
