2 Men Gang Rape, Injure Girl, 10

The Police at Isokoko Division, Lagos, have arrested two men, one Ogueri Chijioke, 34 and Innocent Udie, 42, for their involvement in the defiling of a 10-year old girl on the same day and injuring her in the process.

The incident happened on 1st of December, 2018, at Oyewole compound in Agege, Lagos where they reside.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the two men lured the victim to an apartment, forced her to remove her pant, penetrated her one after the other and injured her. It was learnt that after they had satisfied themselves, they allowed her to go but warned her not to tell anyone what happened.

However, the victim was unable to bear the pain after the penetration by the suspects as she sustained injuries in her private part. She then told her parents what happened to her.
The matter was reported to the police; the suspects were arrested and detained at the police station for interrogation and they reportedly confessed that they slept with her.
They were later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts heavy penalty if they are tried and found guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol E. Ayorinde, informed the court that it was a case of defilement and needed the DPP advice to determine where the matter will be tried.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered the two men to be remanded in prison custody without granting them an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to send the file to the DPP for advice while the defendants will remain in prison custody pending the outcome of DPP advice.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be moved to the High Court if the DPP finds them culpable and recommends their trial.
The matter was adjourned till 16 January 2018 for report of DPP.
