2 Mountain Of Fire Members Docked For Stealing N38m From Church

Two members of the Mountain of Fire & Miracle Ministry, Amos Folusho, 43 and Taiwo Toyin, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N38m, being money realized from offering during church service.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 22nd January, 2025, at Yaba area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspects conspired with others now at large, stole the money in question, bolted away and disconnected every communication they had with the church.
However, the matter was reported to the Police at the Commissioner of Police Special Squad at the Command, Ikeja. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspects at the Command for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
The Police found them culpable after interrogation and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, AMOS FOLUSHO ‘M’, TAIWO TOYIN ‘M’ and others now at large on the 22nd January, 2025, at Yaba, Lagos, in the Lagos magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, AMOS FOLUSHO ‘M’, TAIWO TOYIN ‘M’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did dishonestly steal the sum of N38,112,475.04 (Thirty Eight Million One Hundred and Twelve Thousand Four Hundred and Seventy Five Naira Four Kobo Only) and subsequently converted the above stated amount to your personal use property of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 (a) and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, AMOS FOLUSHO ‘M’, TAIWO TOYIN ‘M’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place, at the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of public peace and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.:
