Two robbers have been caught and lynched after they reportedly cut off a victim’s hand for not keeping money for them during operation in Igando area of Lagos.

P. M.EXPRESS reports that three armed robbers invaded Olushogbon Street by Oko fili Bus Stop in Igando area and attacked a victim.

However, after suppressing and intimidating the victim while demanding for money unfortunately the victim had no money to give them.

According to the residents, the robbers, who were angry that he did not keep any money for them, then vented their anger by using cutlass to inflict injury on his head, cut off part of his hand and moved to rob another place.

However, they were unlucky as the street boys in the area apprehended and lynched two of them while one of them escaped and was said to be at large.

The victim was rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he was undergoing treatment due to injuries he sustained in the attack.

The jungle justice meted on the robbers has landed the residents in trouble after the Police received information and they were asked to produce those who killed the robbers.

The corpse of the robbers were retrieved and deposited at mortuary for autopsy report while the Police continued investigation to apprehend those behind the killing.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the residents were reluctant to produce those who killed the robbers and as well afraid there might be mass arrest and they were looking for the way out.

It was gathered that part of their plans to resolve the matter was to levy themselves and contribute N1000 per house to resolve the matter. The residents were said to believe that what the police needed from them was money and so they started making contributions to settle the Police.

But it is not yet known how the money will resolve the problem because it was learnt that the Police authorities frown at any form of jungle justice in the State.

  • So it means that police is encouraging robbery if police is asking who kill the robbers and they didn't care about the victim they Robb and cut off his hand if it where to be a uniform man that kill the robbers will police go and ask him why did he have to kill the robbers?

  • Jungle Justice is wrong So too is robbery. Worse still is the brazen method presently employed by daredevil men of the underworld. At times the police can't cope. Resort to jungle justice come handy.
