Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested suspected Eiye Confraternity hitmen, Fasasi Olaitan, 40 and Tobiloba Kehinde, 26, and charged them for allegedly shooting their target, Alfred Ademola, with a gun during an operation.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 15th February, 2025, at Mushin area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspects and others now at large, who belonged to Eiye Confraternity, shot the victim with a gun over an undisclosed matter and escaped.
However, the victim survived the attack and the matter was reported to the Commissioner of Police Special Squad at Ikeja. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the Command for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read :
“That you, Fasasi Olaitan ‘m’, Tobiloba Kehinde ‘m’ and others now at large on the 15th day of February, 2025 at about 1709hrs at Mushin area of Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: attempted murder and unlawful society and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Fasasi Olaitan ‘m’, Tobiloba Kehinde ‘m’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did arm yourselves with a locally made gun and attempted to murder one Alfred Ademola ‘m’ by shooting him at his back and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 230(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”

However, their pleas were not taken following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
