2019 WGB/Lagos FA Cup Kicks Off

Except force majeure the 2018/19 Lagos FA Cup will kick off Saturday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos State.

A total of 87 male teams will slug it out for the ticket represent the state at the national Aiteo Cup. In the female category, eight teams will do battle for who flies the state’s flag at the national level.

The annual competition is being sponsored by Winners Golden Bet, WGB, and promises to be excitingly competitive with new innovations, according to the organizers.

To the organizers, this year’s edition will be a better packaged event as they are introducing new innovations.

The improved package was made known to the public on Thursday in Lagos during the draw ceremony and the press conference which was held at the secretariat of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Lagos State Chapter, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos State.

Kitting of the semi-final teams, ball boys and all the officials are some of the innovations that the organizers promised during the event.

Others include; gala night, top notch security, speedy dissemination of information as regards the competition to participating teams and the sporting media.

Meanwhile, erring football teams, players and officials will not be spared.
