The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has won two more Senate seats, one each in Plateau and Yobe, to increase its majority in the Red Chambers.

The party under the Tinubu-Shettima Presidency will now control 59 out of 109 Senate seats.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Yobe State declared Senator Ibrahim Bomai winner of the Yobe South Senatorial District.

The Returning Officer, Abatcha Melemi said Bomai of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 69,596 votes to defeat his closest opponent Halilu Mazagane of the PDP, who polled 68,885 votes.

The result was announced Saturday at the Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum.

INEC had earlier declared the election in the zone inconclusive, following over-voting at Manawachi polling unit in the Fika Local Government Area of the state.

APC’s Diket Satso Plang also won Plateau Central Senatorial Election.

He polled 131,129 votes to defeat PDP’s Golkuna Gotom who scored 127,023 votes
