Ebonyi State provides a veritable political theater where political pundits need no spirit of discernment to know the contenders and the pretenders in the forthcoming general election. The pretenders abound in Ebonyi State, bearing one name in common. They call themselves “opposition”.
When you see the contenders; you have seen seriousness. They are APC candidates at all levels. They are campaigning from the top the grassroots, telling the people what they will do when voted into government and power. Their manifesto speaks volumes of their readiness to serve and serve well. The pretenders are only busy pasting their posters and hoisting bill-boards, misleading their followers into believing they were serious. They are just waiting for the election to be won by the APC so that they will start crying out: Rigging! Rigging!! Rigging!!! Yet, they were not campaigning to show they wanted to win. Leader of the opposition, which is PDP is more at home with litigations than with reaching out to the people. Theirs is one court case today; another court case tomorrow. They have literally relocated their party offices to the courts of law. Is that are a mark of seriousness? Not at all.
We are sounding it for the umpteenth time into the ears of our brothers and sisters who are still on the other side, following pretenders; to crossover to the ruling APC and escape the impending psychological shock of defeat because no defeat is as psychologically shocking as the shock of election defeat. These opposition candidates you are following are not contesting any election. They are simply enriching their resume to have an edge over you in the public service as former candidate of so-so and so political party. Hence, they have nothing to lose. You are the ones that have a lot to lose because you concentrated your minds on them, believing they were serious without knowing they were pretenders.
Ebonyians, vote APC at all levels. Only the candidates of APC are seriously prepared for governance. Take the gubernatorial election for instance, where are the opposition challengers of Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru? They only exist on posters and flexes. Posters and flexes do not win elections; antecedents, hardwork and seriousness do. This is the victory hallmark of the APC in Ebonyi State.
Of course, where is that opposition political party that can takeover Ebonyi State when the good works of our dear Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Dr. David Nweze Umahi, Fnse, Fnate, CON; campaign louder for the APC? The opposition candidates, pretending to be contesting the 2023 general election in Ebonyi State should show us their scorecards even as private individuals. They have none. This is one of the proofs that they are not going anywhere. They know it and they know; we know they are pretenders who are merely deceiving their followers.
Less than two months to the election, the opposition has already gone comatose. The only oxygen that makes the leading opposition PDP seem to still be breathing is the latest court case nullifying the party’s gubernatorial primary election in the State. That is the party’s last breath because before it comes out of its rescheduled primaries, the general election would have been won lost. How great the mighty fallen; and the sword of war perish!
Ebonyi APC is not just parading serious candidates for the 2023 general elections; we are also parading the best. Who is that Senatorial candidate that can come even a distant second position to Governor Umahi in Ebonyi South Zone? Not even the incumbent in the disarray opposition PDP whom greater majority of his party men and women openly castigate for being horridly insensitive to everything, including to his closest followers. It will be dignifying for him to see the back of Governor Umahi in the Ebonyi South Senatorial election if it was possible. Governor Umahi is the master. In politics like in Kung Fu; you can’t defeat the master.
As the 2023 general elections beckon, our last message to Ebonyians who are still wasting their time on the other side with pretenders is to desert them and come over to the APC like others who saw the pretence early enough and joined us. This may be our last minute clarion on you to be part of the coming victory of the APC in Ebonyi State. Therefore, avail yourself of the opportunity now and be counted as one who was part of the preparatory stages of the victory instead of being an opportunist who jumped over when elections had been won and lost. Make use of your number six now because APC is the party to beat in Ebonyi State.
