It was an atmosphere of pomp and pageantry at the Green Field Estate in Ago Okota as residents converged and publicly endorsed the APC Lagos State Assembly candidate for Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2, Hon Ladi Ajomale, for the 2023 election.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the endorsement took place during the estate’s general meeting and end of the year party organized by their Chairman, Chief Monday Akunna and members of his executives.
The event was attended by the residents comprising men, women, friends and captains of industry, who welcomed Ladi Ajomale with his wife and unanimously endorsed him.
The Chairman of the estate, Chief Akunna, who holds the chieftaincy title of Ukwa Achi na Aka, stated that the estate will give him moral, spiritual and financial support because he has demonstrated that he is humble and has great regard for people in the estate.
He assured Ajomale and his wife that the three voting polling units in the estate will vote massively for him because it was the decision of the people in the estate to support him.
Apart from supporting him, Chief Akunna stated that they will equally lead the campaign to other areas within the Constituency to ensure that he wins the election because they have confidence that he will represent the interest of the estate if eventually elected.
Also speaking in the same vein, the former Chairman of the estate, Chairman of Igbo National stakeholders as well Chairman of Ago Phase 2 residents estate, Prince Nixon Okwara, agreed with the decision and described Ajomale family as great in-laws because his wife is from Igbo land.
He explained that Ladi’s father, Chief Henry Ajomale, has been the architect of Igbo’s integration in APC and Lagos State Government, stating for that alone,  it will be a pay back time to show gratitude to Pa Ajomale for what he has done for Ndigbo in Lagos State.
Prince Okwara noted that whenever any Igbo person had issue, he was contacted and expected to resolve it as a leader, he usually contacted Pa Henry Ajomale, who will not hesitate to assist. He further stated that Pa Ajomale has been the architect of various positions the Igbo occupy in Amuwo Odofin, Isolo,  Ejigbo LCDA and other areas in the State.
He explained that the decision to endorse Ladi Ajomale was a right step because of the respect he has for the people living in the estate, who are mainly dominated by the Igbo but noted that there are some issues that needed to be resolved as it concerns other candidates, who are contesting under APC in the Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 and other areas in the State.
“We need to support those who will respect the Igbo and protect our interest by integration and give the average Igbo man a sense of belonging in order to protect our investments in Lagos State and that is why it is reasonably better to support APC in Lagos State” he said.
Meanwhile, the APC House of Assembly candidate, Ladi Ajomale, expressed gratitude to the residents for finding him worthy for endorsement and promised that he will not disappoint and will offer quality representation if he eventually wins with their support.
He noted that majority of the Green Field Estate residents are the Igbo and by implication, he is one of them because his wife is Igbo and they have been living peacefully as husband and wife.
He promised to always come back to consult and discuss area of interest of the people living in the estate and urged them to give him every support for win the election coming up in March 2023.
