2026 National Sports Festival To Hold In Enugu From November 27 – December 11

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially announced that the 2026 National Sports Festival, tagged Coal City Games, will run from November 27 to December 11 in Enugu State.
Director General of the NSC, Bukola Olopade, disclosed the dates during the first Main Organising Committee (MOC) meeting held in Abuja.
He explained that participating states are expected to arrive between November 25 and 26, with the opening ceremony scheduled for November 27 and the closing ceremony on December 11.
The number of sports has also been streamlined to 20. Fifteen compulsory sports will feature, while the host state has the prerogative to select five additional events.
The compulsory sports include Athletics, Para Athletics, Badminton, Para Badminton, Basketball, Wheelchair Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Football, Judo, Gymnastics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Para Table Tennis, Tennis, Taekwondo, Mixed Martial Arts, Weightlifting, Para Powerlifting, and Wrestling.
