2027: Abia Group Backs Akpulonu For Obingwa West Constituency Seat

Progressive Abia Youths for Good Governance (PAYG)has hailed Hon Maduka Akpulonu for his unwavering commitment to socio-economic development of Abia State and Nigeria.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the commendation by the group was contained in a statement signed by the President, Surveyor Samuel Chibuzo, and the Secretary General, Isiguzoro Solomon.
The statement was issued at the end of the enlarged meeting of Progressive Abia Youths for Good Governance (PAYG) held on Friday in Aba, Abia State.
The group, whose membership is drawn from the academia, media, different political parties, noted that Hon Maduka Akpulonu ‘s active roles towards deepening the present democracy in the country cannot be overstated, adding that Hon Maduka Akpulonu has distinguished him as one of the finest democrats in the annals of history of Abia State.
Recalling his numerous contributions, continued roles and already achieved strides towards community/societal development, Progressive Abia Youths for Good Governance ( PAYG), however welcomed the recent decision of Hon Maduka Akpulonu to vie for Abia State House of Assembly seat to represent Obingwa West constituency in 2027 in the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group believed Hon Maduka Akpulonu, when supported to emerge as member of the state legislative house come next year, he would deliver effective, efficient, and responsive representation to the people of Obingwa West constituency.
According to PAYG “There are no doubts that Hon Maduka Akpulonu will initiate development-oriented bills and make good laws to strengthen statutory institutions of democratic governance in Abia State”.
“As a leaser with enormous capacity and contacts, he would attract and ensure critical government projects are executed across the state constituency. He would also ensure indigenes from Obingwa West constituency benefits in  government-sponsored human welfarist programs in empowering his constituents and fostering even development in the constituency.
Having displayed capacity as a community leader, Progressive Abia Youths for Good Governance (PAYG) expressed confidence that Hon Maduka Akpulonu will redefine legislative governance and  representation of Obingwa West constituency  when rally-rounded and elected into the Abia State House of Assembly in 2027.
The socio-political organization therefore, pledged their total support and sincere commitment in ensuring the emergence of Hon Maduka Akpulonu as next member representing Obingwa West State Constituency in Abia Assembly come next year.
Progressive Abia Youths for Good Governance used the medium to urge eligible people from Obingwa West, who have not yet register for Permanent Voters card, to visit designated INEC wards or center to get registered, reminding them that voters cards empowers to vote out incapable candidate and elect credible leaders of their choices.
“Without voters cards, you cannot participate in decision-making of the country. You won’t be able to effect a change in the nation’s leadership in situation of democratic misrule. But with your voters card which served as your power and weapon to vote, and to be voted for in any democratic election.”
“They should not waste their votes for incompetence. They should rather cast their votes for candidates who possessed the needed ability and capacity, candidates who are versatile, and candidates who can steer states’s affairs and sponsor good bills and make impactful and development-oriented laws that will further engender socio-economic and infrastructural projects, including strengthening democratic institutions of governance in our country.”
“We as citizens must take our destines in our hands and make bold decisions in ensuring candidates who do not have a well-thought out plans or lack policy direction towards addressing most teething problems of the masses. are not allowed to near any elective public offices.”
“Finally, we are using this very important medium to urge all sons and daughters from Obingwa West constituency to choose wisely during forthcoming polls in Abia and all other states in Nigeria come next year,”PAYG admonished.
