The sociocultural group representing the Igbos in Ogun State, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has endorsed and pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi in the 2027 elections for president and governor of Ogun State respectively.

The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Ogun State, Eze Stephen Okorie, disclosed this cheery news to Senator Adeola over the weekend when he led a 5-man delegation to pay a courtesy visit and inform him of the chieftaincy title of “Dike Eji Eje Mba” the sociocultural group has granted the senator.

Eze Okorie disclosed that the installation ceremony for the chieftaincy title, slated for the end of the month at Abeokuta, will also witness the open endorsement for the senator and declaration of Igbos to support all APC candidates in Ogun State.

“I have been a resident Nigeria in Ogun State for the last 36 years living in Owode-Yewa in Yewa South LGA of Ogun State. We have been watching the politics and development in Ogun State and based on the massive development that Senator Adeola has attracted to Ogun State in the last three, particularly in the areas of market infrastructure and road construction to promote trade and commerce, the Igbos have no hesitation in endorsing the Senator for Governor of Ogun State and Tinubu for president in 2027 election” he stated.

He stated that on a personal level, he has constructed 5 campaign bill boards for Tinubu and Yayi across the state on behalf of Igbos as well as produced many campaign materials for the senator and APC stressing that the support of Igbos for the senator is also to redress the injustice against the people of Ogun West in not producing a governor since the creation of the state.

“We have heard of your positive story while you were in Lagos in areas of development and humanitarian deeds and since you came to Ogun State you are continuing in the same stride. We are confident that as governor you will do more for the people of the state and all Nigerians resident in the state” he stated while addressing his audience and people in mixture Igbo, Yoruba and English language.

In appreciation of their gesture Senator Adeola disclosed that while in Lagos, the Igbos equally supported his political journey and the Eze Ndigbo in Lagos bestowed on him the title of “Dike Di Ora Nma” of Lagos State stressing that his attraction of development and good will gestures is targeted at all the people in society irrespective of tribe or religion.

“My brand of politics is politics of inclusion and delivery of good governance for all the people. When roads, schools, hospitals and other infrastructures are constructed, it is for the good of all and all law- abiding Nigerians are welcome to do business and make progress in Ogun State” Senator Adeola stated.

In attendance at the courtesy visit were the deputy governorship candidate of APC in Ogun State, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa Balogun, Dr. Kunle Salako, the minister of State for Health and social services, Hon. Laolu Olabimtan, Ogun State commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, APC Ogun West senatorial candidate and other APC candidates.
