The ongoing second edition of Olowo’s Cup Super 8 Football Tournament has generated interesting football rivalry among the participating schools with each match seeing the students showcasing their God-given soccer artistry on the field of play.
Holding at the Owo Community Stadium, matches in the ongoing Olowo’s Cup is living up to expectations with the boys having fun on the field.
Match scheduled for Monday promises to be a tough cracker. Owo High School will keep a date against Adeyeri-Iyere High School by 3pm.
On Tuesday, New Church School will settle scores with Ahmadiyah Grammar School by 3pm.
The is a grassroots football tournament designed for students in secondary schools in Owo land, is being organized to honour the Paramount Ruler of Owo land, His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III.
The second edition, was kicked off by eight secondary schools divided into two groups of four teams in each group.
Group A has Imade College, Owo, Methodist High School, A.U.D. Comprehensive High School and Ijebu Community Grammar School.
Group B consists of Owo High School, New Church Grammar School, Aseyeri-Iyere High School and Ahmadyihah Grammar School.
The final of the tournament is scheduled for 30 July 2024, as it will be one of the side attractions of the renowned Igogo Festival 2024.
