The grassroots football competition with the theme:  “Giving Back” is Ikpeba, the 1997 African Footballer of The Year award winner’s own way at giving back to the Nigerian society that made him a world-class soccer star.

Victor Ikpeba, said Friday in Lagos that: “After hosting the first edition at the Obele Odan Community Centre, muted by veteran sports journalist and member, Media Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Dapo Sotuminu, who is also the Chairman, Obele Odan CDA, last year, he discovered the need to spread the competition across Nigeria to ensure he helps improved the fortunes of young Nigerian footballers. And he was in Warri, Delta State, later in December to host the same Five-A-Side competition tagged “Warri 2021”, this came a huge success.
