Three traders at Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos, Oluwadamilare Oluwafemi, 32, Sunday Adegun, 30, and Owoade Gbenga,30, have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring and stealing three iPhone 15 promax worth N5.6m belonging to Olaoluwa Oladimeji and Oyedele Sunday under the pretence of buying the phones.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 26th June, 2025, at Idowu Lane, inside computer village, Ikeja.
According to the Police, the suspects obtained the iPhones from the complainants under the false pretence of buying them. They sold one of it to one of the suspects, Sunday Adegun and bolted away.
However, the matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspects and detained them at the station for interrogation over their alleged conduct.
After thoroughly interrogating them, the Police found the suspects culpable for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT 1: “That you, Oluwadamilare Oluwafemi ‘m’, Sunday Adegun ‘m’ Owoade Gbenga m and others now at large, on the 26th day of June, 2025, at about 1030hrs, at Idowu Lane, inside computer village, Ikeja Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire with others now at large to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Oluwadamilare Oluwafermi ‘m’, Sunday Adegun ‘m’ Owoade Gbenga ‘n and others now at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did fraudulently obtain three (3) pieces of iPhone 15 Pro max valued N5,640,000.00 (five million six hundred and forty thousand Naira) belonging to one Olaoluwa Oladimeji ‘m’ and Oyedele Sunday ‘m’ under the pretence of buying the phones and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 313 and punishable under Section 314 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Oluwadamilare Oluwafemi ‘m’, Sunday Adegun ‘m’ Owoade Gbenga ‘m’ and others now at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal three (3) pieces of iPhone 15 Pro max valued N5,640,000.00 (five million six hundred and forty thousand Naira) belonging to one Olaoluwa Oladimeji ‘m’ and Oyedele Sunday ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, Sunday Adegun ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did receive one iPhone 15 Pro max valued N2,500,000.00 (two million five hundred thousand Naira) property of one Olaoluwa Oladimeji ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 328 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
