Police detectives attached to Ihiala Area Command have recovered a 3 day old baby boy who was sold by his biological parents at the sum of N300,000 (three hundred thousand Naira only).
The biological parents, Chinonso Anyanwu, 32 and Oluebube Anyanwu, 20, from Imo State, sold their 3 day old son to one Sandra Odimege of Amorka village, Ihiala in Ihiala LGA, Anambra State.
The sellers and buyer of the innocent child were arrested by police detectives attached to Ihiala Area Command on Tuesday, April 30 following intelligence reports.
Gov Willie Obiano has directed the Police to investigate further into the matter to arrest and prosecute any child trafficking syndicate in Anambra State. “The law will spare no one involved in such abominable act.”
“No condition is enough excuse to get involved in the trading of a child. There are procedures and guidelines for adoption. Information can be gotten from the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Dora Akunyili center, Anambra State.”
