3 Passengers In Trouble For Unruly Conduct Inside Air Peace Aircraft

Three passengers, Adewale Adedigba,52, Magnis Ashibuogwu, 50 and Iwunze Benjamin, 30, have landed in trouble for alleged unruly behaviour while onboard Air Peace aircraft enroute from London to Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the passengers were arrested and charged for their alleged conduct under the Criminal Laws of the State.

 

The incident happened on 12th February, 2025 and they were apprehended by Police operatives from Airport Division. They have been charged before the Court for unruly behaviour and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.

 

According to the Police, the passengers boarded the flight and conducted themselves in a manner to cause breach of public peace by shouting while moving from the economy to business class seats thereby causing public disturbance.

 

When they got to the airport, the Air Peace management handed them over to the Police. They were interrogated, found culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1: “That you, Adewale Adedigba ‘m’, Magnis Ashibuogwu “m” and Iwunze  Benjamin ‘m’, on the 12th day of February, 2025, at about 2000hrs, while on board Air Peace London to Lagos flight No. P4 7579, at Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by shouting on top of your voices and causing public disturbance in the aircraft and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 168 (1) (d) and punishable under Section 168 (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT 2:”That you, Adewale Adedigba ‘m’, Magnis Ashibuogwu “m” and Iwunze Benjamin ‘m’, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial rict, did behave in an unruly and disorderly manner while onboard Air Peace London to Lagos flight No. P4 7579 by leaving your originally paid economy class to business class seats without any reason or permission inside the aircraft and committed an offence punishable under Section 4 (1) (a) (b) and punishable under Section 4 (2) of FAAN bye law, 2005.”

 

However,  they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Adeitan Oluwabunmi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Chief Magistrate, M.A. Agbaje, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
