3 Suspected Cult Members Arrested For Terrorising Lagos Community With Arms

A combined team of operatives from the Commissioner of Police Tactical Squad has arrested three suspected members of the Eiye Confraternity including their leader for allegedly terrorizing members of a community with arms in Lagos State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the leader of the group, Peter Onichabor, 32, was arrested alongside two of their members, Abiodun Asimolowo, 30 and Kazeem Amodu, 50, at Irawo area of Ikorodu Lagos, with arms during the coordinated operation while other members managed to escape and now at large.

 

According to the Police, the operation was carried out following complaints about their criminal activities by terrorizing Oke Ora Kankan Nla, Agboyi Estate, Irawo communities in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

 

They were rounded up and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for various offences as stated in the Police charge before the Court.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1: “That you, Peter Onichabor ‘m’ Abiodun Asimolowo ‘m’, Kazeem Amodu ‘m’and others still at large on or before the 15th day of July, 2025, at about 1400hrs at Oke Ora Kankan Nia Agboyi Estate, Irawo Ikorodu Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: unlawful possession of fire Arm, cultism and wilful damage and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Peter Onichabor ‘m’, and others still at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district, did unlawfully belong and manage a secret society, known as Aiye confraternity, known to be unlawful and thereby committed an offence under Section (2) (3) (a) (b) (e) of the unlawful societies and cultism Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2021.”

 

COUNT III:”That you, Abiodun Asimolowo ‘m’, and others still at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district, did unlawfully belong and manage a secret society known as Eiye confraternity known to be unlawful and thereby committed an offence under Section (2) (3) (a) (b) (e) of the unlawful societies and cultism Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2021.”

 

COUNT IV:”That you, Peter Onichabor ‘m’ Abiodun Asimolowo ‘m’, Kazeem Amodu ‘m’ and others still at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial district, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by terrorizing the community of Oke Ora Kankan Nla, Agboyi Estate, Irawo, Ikorodu, Lagos State and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (d) of the criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT V:”That you, Peter Onichabor ‘m’ Abiodun Asimolowo ‘m’ August, 2025 in the aforementioned Magisterial district, did wilfully damage the entrance gate of the above mentioned estate by breaking the padlock with instrument and thereby committed an offence under Section 350 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, they were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, on the order of the Court pending advice from the DPP to determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not for prosecution over jurisdiction.
