Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested three suspected traffic armed robbers, who had been terrorizing motorists with daggers at the popular Berger bus stop, Ojodu area of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspected robbers, Junior Ebube Nwadike, 20, Isaac Sunday, 20 and Peter Jerry, 18, were arrested with the arms while they were on their usual operations at the bus stop before the Police operatives from the Tactical Team, Ikeja Command arrested them.
According to the Police, the suspects who were known for their criminal activities in the area, had been operating without any regard to the security operatives in the area.
However, the information got to the Commissioner of Police, who ordered his Special team to fish them out and it paid off.
The suspects were said to have during operations robbed one Adumo Samuel of his phone worth N135,000 and when they tried to escape, the Police operatives rounded them up, arrested and detained them at the Command’s headquarters for further investigation over their alleged involvement in criminal activities.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable having recovered the daggers as exhibits. They were consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:

However,  the Court did not take their plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Supol Phillip Ademigbuji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
