No fewer than 32 teams are expected to take part in the second edition of the Comrade Emmanuel Okafor Challenge Cup.
The competition would kick off on 9 October 2021 at Road Safety football pitch, Asiriabo, Badagry Express Road, Lagos.
Director of MJ Sports Promotion, Whesu Joseph Preye confirmed that more clubs are interested in the competition saying that there are still forms available for interested clubs before the closing date.
“More clubs are still calling us that they are interested in our competition, while some clubs have purchased their forms and submitted them. Our registration form is N15, 000 and presently we can still accommodate few clubs who are still interested in our competition before we close it next week. The competition is a sponsored tournament and it is going to be better organized,” he said.
In his own comment, Ilorin Sonbari Markarbo who is also a member of organizing committee tasked the participating teams to abide by the rules and regulation saying that any team violates the rules would be sanctioned accordingly.
He further said they have contacted certified referees that would officiate all the matches and warned football fans to desist from any social vices that can ruin the competition.
