The Convener and Lead Resource Person of The Think-Tinubu Initiative, 3TI, Omogbolahan L.A. Babawale, has congratulated former APC National Women Leader and Honourable Minister, Dr. Betta Edu, on her appointment as Director, Women Mobilisation, APC Presidential Campaign Council.
In a statement on Sunday, Babawale described the appointment as a resounding affirmation of Dr. Edu’s capacity for leadership, organisation and grassroots mobilisation at a critical time in the nation’s political trajectory.
Babawale said the new role recognizes Dr. Edu’s courage, intellectual vitality and commitment to public service.
“Heartfelt congratulations are richly deserved by Dr. Betta Edu, a distinguished woman of uncommon courage, intellectual vitality, organisational brilliance, and an unmistakable commitment to public service, on her appointment as Director, Women Mobilization, APC Presidential Campaign Council. This prestigious responsibility is not merely an appointment; it is a resounding affirmation of her capacity to inspire, organise, galvanise, and provide purposeful leadership at a critical moment in the nation’s political trajectory,” he stated.
“It is also proof that regardless of the happenstance, Mr. President strongly believes in her indispensability.”
The 3TI Convener reflected on Dr. Edu’s journey, particularly her tenure as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
“Dr. Edu’s journey in public life has been characterised by remarkable energy, audacity of purpose, and an enduring willingness to venture where responsibility demands courage. As the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, she occupied a portfolio of profound national sensitivity, where the imperatives of compassion, social intervention, institutional coordination, and service to vulnerable Nigerians converged. Whatever the vicissitudes that may have accompanied her tenure, her passion for public service and her determination to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of ordinary citizens have remained unmistakable and profound,” Babawale said.
Babawale noted that Dr. Edu now stands at the vanguard of one of the most strategic pillars of the campaign.
“As Director of Women Mobilization, Dr. Edu now stands at the vanguard of one of the most consequential pillars of the APC Presidential Campaign Council – the mothers of the nation. Women constitute an extraordinary reservoir of political influence, community leadership, grassroots connectivity, family consciousness, and electoral participation. Mobilising this immense constituency requires far more than rhetoric; it demands strategic imagination, emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, persuasive communication, and the ability to transform scattered enthusiasm into disciplined collective action, and this, Dr. Edu comes up with an overload,” he added.
“With her energetic disposition, expansive political networks, and demonstrated organisational instincts, Dr. Edu is eminently positioned to transform this responsibility into a formidable instrument of grassroots engagement and democratic mobilisation.”
The 3TI leader said the assignment calls for vision to recognise women not just as participants but as architects of the nation’s political future.
“This appointment is also a powerful testament to the confidence reposed in Dr. Edu by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress and the broader presidential campaign structure. It is an assignment that calls for exceptional vision, because the women of Nigeria cannot merely be treated as participants in the political process; they must be recognised as architects, catalysts, custodians, and decisive stakeholders in the nation’s political future. Under Dr. Edu’s stewardship, one can reasonably anticipate a mobilisation architecture that resonates from the corridors of political leadership to the remotest communities, knitting together women across geopolitical zones, ethnic identities, faith traditions, professions, generations, and social strata in pursuit of a shared political purpose,” Babawale stated.
He prayed for success as Dr. Edu assumes the new responsibility.
“As she assumes this new responsibility, we celebrate not only the office she has been entrusted with but also the woman behind the office—a resilient, ambitious, vibrant, and determined Nigerian whose public trajectory continues to command attention. May this new chapter provide her with the opportunity to deploy her considerable talents with even greater strategic precision, while contributing meaningfully to the success of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. May her voice become a clarion call for greater women’s participation, her leadership a catalyst for purposeful mobilisation, and her assignment a resounding demonstration of what disciplined organisation and visionary political engagement can achieve,” he said.
“Congratulations, Dr. Betta Edu! Your appointment is a worthy recognition of your political dexterity, organisational capacity, and unwavering commitment to national service. As you take up this formidable mantle, may wisdom illuminate your path, may courage strengthen your resolve, and may your mobilisation efforts yield an unprecedented harvest of unity, enthusiasm, and electoral support. The assignment is monumental, but so too is the woman entrusted with it. Go forth and mobilise with distinction; inspire with conviction; lead with grace; and leave an indelible imprint upon the political history of our great nation. Congratulations once again!”
