4 Church Members Docked For Allegedly Burgling Church & Carting Away N12m Musical Equipment

Four suspected members of Corner Stone Bible Church have been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly burgling the church and carting away musical equipment worth N12m. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the members, Alli Adedayo, 59, ‘M’, Ogwuche Paul, 52 Adeniyi Ramon, 27 and Stephen Mbakwe, 27, were alleged to have broken into the church on 11th September,2025, at about 0400hrs at Corner Stone Bible Church, Baruwa Ipaja, Lagos.

 

Among the items stolen included two musical keyboards, one engine mixer, one Behringer by 32 Channels mixer, one Yamaha Mod x 13 Keyboard, Portable Keyboard PSR S775 all valued N12m  property of the church.

According to the Police, the suspects went to the church in the early hours of the morning, broke the iron protector, gained access into the church and carted away the items.

 

However, information leaked that they were behind the burglary and stealing in the church and the matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. They were then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.

 

The Police found them culpable after thorough interrogation and charged them before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Alli Adedayo ‘M’, Ogwuche Paul ‘M’, Adeniyi Ramon ‘M’ and Stephen Mbakwe ‘M’ on the 11th day of Sept, 2025 at about 0400hrs at Corner Stone Bible Church, Baruwa Ipaja area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony to wit breaking, entry and stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Alli Adedayo ‘M’, Ogwuche Paul ‘M’, Adeniyi Ramon M’ and Stephen Mbakwe ‘M’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did break and entered the Corner Stone Bible Church and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 307 (1) (a) (b) (c) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT III:”That you, Alli Adedayo M’, Ogwuche Paul ‘M’, Adeniyi Ramon ‘M’ and Stephen Mbakwe ‘M’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did willfully and unlawfully damage the iron protector door and window valued (N40,000:00) Forty Thousand Naira Only, property of Corner Stone Bible Church and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 350 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT IV:”That you, Alli Adedayo M’, Ogwuche Paul ‘M’, Adeniyi Ramon ‘M’ and Stephen Mbakwe ‘M’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did omit to take proper precautions against the Corner Stone Church instruments solely under your care and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 251 (1) (g) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT V:”That you Alli Adedayo M’, Ogwuche Paul ‘M’, Adeniyi Ramon M’ and Stephen Mbakwe ‘M’ on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did steal two Keyboards, one Engine mixer. one Behringer by 32 Channels mixer, one Yamaha Mod x 13 Keyboard and Portable Keyboard PSR S775 all valued N12,000,000:00 (Twelve hon Naira Only), property of Corner Stone Bible Church and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence that brought them before the Court.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted them bail in the sum of N1m each with sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned till 31st October, 2025, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
