4 OPC Members Arrested Over Beating & Death Of Man, 35

Police operatives attached to Bariga Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four members of Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, for allegedly beating and stabbing a 35-year old man, Tochukwu Chidi, to death during argument.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on Saturday, 13th February, 2021, at Temple Street, Bariga area of Lagos.

The suspects were Sunday Onilede, m, 35, Azan Razak, m, 35, Abdullahi Ibrahim, m, 29, and Fatai Taiwo, m, 40. They are presently in Police custody undergoing interrogation over the dastardly act.

The deceased, Tochukwu Chidi, m, 35, who lived at No. 76 Arobadede Street, Bariga, Lagos, was said to have had an argument with them and he was brutally beaten and stabbed severally then sustained injuries which eventually caused his death.

This was confirmed by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Ogunjobi.
He said that the suspects attacked the deceased and inflicted injuries on him. He was rushed to the General Hospital, Bariga, for treatment before he was confirmed dead.

His corpse was deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report while the suspects were arrested and detained where they are being investigated over the murder.

The Commissioner of Police,  Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the act and directed that the matter be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for proper investigation and prosecution.

The suspects risk life imprisonment or death by hanging if they are charged before Court, tried and found guilty for conspiracy and murder.
