Four teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 have landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl as they were later arrested.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 8th April, 2026, at Irawowuro Street, Ikotun, Lagos, where they reside.
They were said to have lured the victim and forcefully had sex with her one after the other before allowing her to go.
The matter was exposed after the victim informed her parents about what happened. The incident was reported to the Police in the area, and the suspects were arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation.
After interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offences, which attract several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I:”That you, (names withheld), on the 8th of April, 2026, at Irawowuro Street, Ikotun, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit a felony to wit: defilement, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did defile the victim, ‘F’, 15 years old, by having unlawful carnal knowledge of her, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered their remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention, pending the report of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the case will be transferred to the High Court for lack of jurisdiction.
Their names were withheld because they are minors, in line with the editorial policy of P.M.EXPRESS.
