No fewer than 40 teams are expected to take part in the 14th edition of Gafaar Bolowotan Gold Cup which kicks off next weekend in Ikorodu, Lagos
Chairman Ikorodu Divisonal Football Association, Alhaji Lukman Sonibare confirmed to our correspondent that this year’s edition would be better organized and warned all the participating teams to play the game according to the rules and regulation.
“We are preparing for Bolowotan Gold Cup and it is talk of the town in Ikorodu. Teams are fully ready and they have commenced early preparation for this tournament. The draw ceremony would hold on this Friday to know which teams would play opening match,” he said.
Sonibare said they have contacted certified referees to officiate all the matches without fear or favour and urged the teams to shun violence during and after the competition saying that any team found wanting would be sanctioned accordingly.
The tourney is being sponsored by Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Gafaar Bolowotan.
