40-Year-Old Man Arraigned In Court Over Alleged Breach Of Peace & Assault Of Fatima Igboche

A 40-year-old man, Michael Alabi, was arraigned before a Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja over allegations of conduct likely to cause breach of peace and assault of one Fatima Igboche, according to the charge sheet marked Charge No 2016 obtained by http://pmexpressng.com.
The defendant was arraigned before the Ikeja Magisterial District court on a two-count charge filed by the Commissioner of Police against Michael Alabi ‘m’.
According to Count 1 on the charge sheet, the prosecution alleged that on 27th April, 2026, at about 4:10pm, at Ikola Command, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, Michael Alabi conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace with Fatima Igboche.
The alleged act in Count 1 is contrary to and punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
Count 2 of the charge sheet alleged that on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, the defendant beat Fatima Igboche and caused breach of trust.
The prosecution alleged that the incident occurred at Ikola Command area within the Ikeja Magisterial District jurisdiction.
The alleged act in Count 2 is contrary to and punishable under Section 334(2)(a) and 334(2)(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The charge sheet indicated that the matter was handled by Meiran Police Station under L.P.O. Supol Alonge Bridget, with the District Prosecutor’s Office, Ogun, also listed on the document.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, SP Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove the allegations.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted the defendant bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment, while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The case was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending perfection of his bail conditions.
It is important to note that all allegations contained in the charge sheet remain allegations until proven in court. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty under Nigerian law and Section 36(5) of the 1999 Constitution.
