The five suspects who publicly fought among themselves in Lagos over anal sex have been quarantined after it was confirmed that they were HIV positive.
P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that the suspects were confined at a secluded cell at Area M Command, Idimu, Lagos to avoid infecting other inmates with HIV.
It was gathered that the suspects were rejected by the prison officials and the police IPO became helpless on what to do with the suspects as they could not be taken to prison because of their condition.
The suspects, Daniel Dara, 29, Marvelous Christian, 25, Aneka Akachukwu, 20, Abuchi Michael,20 and 30-year old Ezeugo Luke, were arrested and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for allegedly engaging themselves in anal sex, fighting publicly over sex partner and for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
However, before they were brought to the court, laboratory tests were carried out on them and the result indicated that they were HIV positive. The matter came to the open when their counsel, Barrister C. Onyebuchi urged the court to use its discretion to grant the suspects bail because of their health status.
P.M.EXPRESS probed to know why Barrister Onyebuchi made such application and it was revealed that the suspects were HIV positive.
P.M.EXPRESS learnt that the suspects were eventually taken to Area M Command, Idimu, where they will be detained until they perfect their bail condition having been rejected by prison officials.
