Police Operatives at Ilupeju Division in Lagos, have started manhunt for five suspects, who allegedly conspired and gang-raped an 11-year old girl and in the process injured her private part.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Adeoye Adeyemi Road, Maryland area of Lagos, where they reside.

The girl was alleged to have been lured to an apartment owned by one of the suspects, was forced to removed her pant and they forcefully penetrated her in turns.
So far, two of the suspects namely Akpan Survival, 26 and Stanley Arong, have been arrested while three other suspects were said to be on the run.
However, after the dastardly act, the girl was sent away. She went home and told her parents what happened and the injury she sustained during the act.
The matter was reported to the Police and the 11-year old girl was taken to an undisclosed hospital before the Police succeeded in arresting the suspects.
The two suspects, after interrogation, were charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and defilement, which attracts life imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before Court.

The prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because of the serious nature of the offence they allegedly committed.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O Osunsanmi, ordered them remanded in prison custody without an option of bail pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the suspects await the outcome of the report to either face the trial at the Magistrates or High Court for the alleged offence.
The matter was adjourned till 15th October, 2019.
It was gathered that the Police have intensified efforts to arrest the three other suspects at large after the alleged rape was exposed by the victim.
