5 Suspects Arrested For Stealing Female Pants For Money Ritual

Nigerian women appear to be really in serious trouble over the recent developments about the theft of their under wears in various homes in Lagos and other cities.

Recently, Police operatives at Ojo Division, Lagos, arrested five suspects for stealing female under wears, which they use for ritual purposes.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana.
He said that on 10th January, 2020, at about 0800hrs, acting on information, operatives from Ojo Police Station arrested one Chukwajekwu Ezigbo ‘m’ 15yrs of Ilufe area Ojo for stealing female under wears from clothesline.
He was taken to the station for further interrogation and he reportedly confessed to the Police that for the past one year, he had been stealing female under wears from different houses in Ojo and environs.

DSP Elkana said that the suspect revealed that he usually handed over those stolen under wears to the following female suspects for payment: Chidima Obietuake ‘f’ 17years old, Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe ‘ f’ 17years old, Gold Enyinnaya ‘f’ 23years old and Akomas Amarachi ‘f’ 26years old, all of Ilufe area, Ojo.
He said following the revelations, the Police moved into action, arrested  the suspects and detained them at the Station.


Elkana confirmed that the suspects had confessed to the commission of the crime and the Police detectives recovered some stolen female under wears from the suspects and kept as exhibits at the Station.
He said that investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to Court at the conclusion of investigation.
That was not the first time such incident happened in Lagos. Last year, a young man was arrested and charged before Ogba Magistrates Court in Lagos for stealing female pants for sale for ritual purposes.
However, he was caught and he confessed that he had a client who buys such from him. In the same vein, the DPO, Agboju Division, CSP Chike Oti, arrested another suspect with female pants, which the suspect claimed he stole to sell to his client who needed it for money ritual. There are instances of pant theft in other areas such as Delta, Edo, Anambra, Abuja and other cities in Nigeria.
