In a strategic move to strengthen grassroots communication and expand digital engagement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Lagos State APC Governorship Candidate, PBAT-KOH, 57 Chief Press Secretaries (CPSs) from the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LGAs/LCDAs) in Lagos State have met with the PBAT-KOH New Media Directorate to develop a coordinated and robust social media engagement strategy.
The meeting, held under the leadership of the Director of the PBAT-KOH New Media Directorate, Hon. Susan Daini, focused on building an effective digital communication structure that will amplify the achievements, policies, programmes and political vision of PBAT-KOH while strengthening engagement with residents across the state.
The meeting brought together the 57 Chief Press Secretaries, who will work in collaboration with Public Relations Officers (PROs) of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) across the 57 LGAs/LCDAs to drive an aggressive, coordinated and sustained grassroots social media campaign.
Under the proposed arrangement, the CPSs and NYCN PROs will leverage their respective communication networks and local knowledge to disseminate relevant information, promote public engagement, counter misinformation and ensure that the messages and activities of PBAT-KOH reach communities across Lagos State.
The initiative is designed to take political communication beyond conventional media platforms by deploying the reach and influence of social media to connect directly with residents, particularly young people, grassroots stakeholders and other digitally active audiences.
The collaboration is expected to establish a formidable grassroots digital communication network, with the CPSs providing institutional communication leadership and the NYCN PROs contributing their youth networks and community-level reach.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to working together to strengthen the digital presence of PBAT-KOH, promote its political message and mobilise grassroots support through responsible, strategic and result-oriented social media engagement.
