6 Men Arraigned For Constituting Nuisance At Airport

Police operatives have arrested six men for allegedly constituting nuisance by soliciting for and rendering unsolicited assistance from passengers at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were Dennis Fidelis, 41, Darlington Emeka, 35, Solomon Ejobotuvie, 59, Amadi Chibuzo, 35, Obinna Eze, 19 and Peacemaker Opara, 48 .

 

They were charged for unlawfully entering into restricted part of the airport, loitering and touting after they were rounded up by Police operatives from the Airport Division.

 

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and then charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

 

The charges read:

COUNT 1: “That you, Dennis Fidelis ‘m’. Darlington Emeka ‘m’, Solomon Ejobotuvie m”. Amadi Chibuzo ‘m’, Obinna Eze ‘m’ and Peacemaker Opara ‘m”, on the 20/21″ Jay of April, 2025, at various parts of Murtala Mulammed Int’l Airport, Ikeja, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully enter into the restricted part of the Airport without any easonable cause or permission from Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and thereby committed an offence contrary Section 3 11) (e) and punishable under Section 3 (2) of FAAN bye law 2005.”

 

COUNT 2: “That you, Dennis Fidelis ‘m’, Darlington Emeka ‘m’. Solomon Ejobotuvie ‘m’, Amadi Chibuzo ‘m’, Obinna Eze ‘m’ and Peacemaker Opara ‘m’, on the same dates, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did loiter or remain in the parts of the Airport without permission or authority from Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 3 (1)(b) and punishable under Section 3 (2) of FAAN Bye Laws 2005.”

 

COUNT 3: “That you, Dennis Fidelis ‘m’, Darlington Emeka ‘m’, Solomon Ejobotuvie ‘m’, Amadi Chibuzo ‘m’, Obinna Eze ‘m’ and Peacemaker Opara ‘m’, on the same dates, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did engage yourselves in touting by rendering unsolicited assistance to intending and arriving passengers without any reasonable cause or permission from Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 6 (1) and punishable under Section 6(6) of FAAN bye laws 2005.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Adeitan Oluwabunmi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrates, M.A. Agbaje, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
