About 73 political parties in Anambra State under the umbrella of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, have issued a strong worded statement addressed to the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, asking him and his colleagues not to confirm Transition Committee Chairmen that would be sent to the House by Gov Willie Obiano.
The statement frowned at the continued use of Caretaker Committee to run the 21 LGAs of the state as against many Court decisions.
IPAC therefore, said it has constituted an action committee to inspect and probe the Federal allocations to the 21 local councils.
The 73 political parties, which endorsed the statement, ordered the State Governor to constitute the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC, and commence the process of conducting LGA election or face mass action.
The political parties said that failure by the State Government to act on this release will be met with resistance. It warned that if the government ignores its call to conduct LG election, the body will mobilise the entire state to occupy the State House of Assembly with both local and international media organisations including all legal instruments.
