Tragedy struck on Thursday in Lagos as a full-loaded fuel tanker exploded, resulting in the death of nine people.
Adesina Tiamiyu, General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, who confirmed the death said over 50 vehicles also got burnt at the accident which happened on Otedola Bridge, close to Berger area of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
LASEMA boss said the tanker fell around 5:53pm and exploded, while vehicle behind it were caught in the fire.
He added that the nine people were burnt beyond recognition while four others were rescued, with two in critical condition and two others with minor injuries.
